EQHO localized a 65,000 word Oracle-based policy and claims system into Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Because of the complexity of the application, including hundreds of abbreviated and technical insurance terms, the project required translators with a solid background in insurance brokering to perform the work. The project was completed in just over three weeks, and as a result, Aon became the first foreign insurance brokerage to be granted a full trading license by the People’s Republic of China.
EQHO successfully delivered this high volume project in Thai and Simplified Chinese for Attain and Axapta ERP accounting and financial software. The project involved localizing the user-interface and help system of both applications, requiring a team of 22 subject-specialist translators with backgrounds in finance, accounting and general business. We developed a glossary, completed all translation, localized the graphics, resized the dialogue boxes and menu functions, and performed build verification testing, bug fixing and a final quality assurance check.

When this client required European and Asian language localization services, EQHO stepped in to develop a set of customized processes to enable the company to make a smooth transition from an in-house localization model to a globally outsourced centrally-managed strategy. We provided validation services to assess GOLD Unix based software for internationalization, double-byte compatibility services, and translation in excess of one million source words from English into Thai, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Malaysian, Russian and Dutch.
