Independent market research company Common Sense Advisory lists localization service provider EQHO as a Top 30 Asian vendor in an industry worth $33.05 Billion (2012).

Common Sense Advisory (CSA) research helps companies grow their businesses globally and gain access to new markets, focusing on translation, localization, interpreting, globalization, and internationalization.  In its 9th annual study of the language outsourcing market, the CSA examined 27,600 unique suppliers of translation services across 154 countries.

The report titled The Language Services Market: 2013 An Annual Review of the Translation, Localization, and Interpreting Services Industry, lists the leading suppliers in global and regional markets for language services and technology.  EQHO Communications was ranked as one of the Top 30 Asian vendors, out of thousands of language service providers in the region, which also includes the Middle East.

CSA predicts that the market for outsourced translation services will exceed USD $34.7 Billion in 2013. Director of Research Operations Vijayalaxmi Hegde commented “The market for outsourced language services and supporting technology is immensely important to the organizations and individuals that produce or consume information. We predict that increasing demand will push the market to US$43 billion by 2016.”- Market for Outsourced Translation and Interpreting Services and Technology to Surpass US$34.7 Billion in 2013

EQHO achieved 17% growth from 2011 to 2012.  Growth sectors include corporate eLearning, digital marketing and local multinationals.  EQHO also continues to serve other leading US and European based vendors, providing Southeast Asian localization as well as a suite of audio and multimedia services, including  Adobe Flash, Articulate Studio, Storyline, and Lectora localization, video dubbing, subtitling, and transcription.

Most notably, multilingual voiceover saw the sharpest increase of over 60% and accounted for almost 20% of EQHO’s revenue in 2012. In order to keep up with increasing demand, the company recently announced that it will expand its in-house recording facilities, as well as develop an online voice bank in 50 languages to facilitate the talent selection process for its clients.

EQHO is also preparing for the fast approaching implementation of the Asean Economic Community (AEC) in 2016.  This year it saw a dramatic increase in translation volume, having already produced 61% of 2012 word volume in Q1 alone.

VP of Global Marketing Steven Bussey was interviewed about the company’s vision for the future: “Not only will EQHO continue its role as a key translation partner to other localization vendors for Southeast and East Asian languages, including Thai, Vietnamese, Malay, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, but also as a key supplier and reliable partner for audio and multimedia localization in all major languages.”

“It will focus on local sales, facilitated by offices in Europe, Australia and the United States.  Sustained growth is expected in audio and multimedia localization, which is still considered by many as something of a dark art.  EQHO however, has developed a very competitive and reliable offering over the past 10 years.  Scaling-up capacity is a priority.  Development plans include recruitment and training to provide new services and resources to support new multimedia technologies.”
